  Service was very bizarre. Some of the staff didn't seem to know what they were supposed to be doing, as we were told conflicting information by two members of staff. Starters and mains made up for this somewhat, though the desserts left a lot to be desired. Creme brulee had an odd texture, wasn't smooth as it should be.

  The high prices don't reflect the value of the food! Disappointed all round. Service was good but they were young staff that didn't know what was what! Presentation of the food wasn't very good, a few green limp lettuce leaves doesn't make a salad!! We where put upstairs and it was very hot, one of the staff did open one of the sky light windows! Overall we won't be going back there as the smell outside was disgusting.

  Wow, just had a fantastic meal at the piccalilli Inn. Staff were friendly and efficient. It was really nice that the owner / manager (sorry don't know which) came around to check that our meal was OK. That was a really nice touch. Highly recommended historic Inn.
